Resource: Oral History Principles & Best Practices

For those of us who do interviews, DART suggests that we may need to do our interviews with the intention of posting them online or archiving them. To me, this type of interviewing has many similarities with oral history.

Yet oral history is a separate discipline, with its own ethical standards and practices -- some of which are in conflict with current practices in political science. So as we consider moving closer to this model of interviewing, it may be useful for us to consult with oral historians, or even to attend their Annual Meeting.
