I concur with those stating that the proposed policies for opennes and accessability of data favour quantitative research and make it less likely for students and reseachers to opt for qualitative research (either by design or because they no longer have access to data). Dishonesty is a problem in many places but it is very difficult to devise procedures that cannot be gamed by those intent on dishonesty. Rather than focusing only on the procedures, and making them more and more complex, we could also aim to better teach what is honest and ethical research. I think...
